Sherlock Holmes and the case of the conguitos

Story-Line

A day a series of bodies appeared in the streets of London, one was identified as Mycroft Holmes. Lestrade arrived to the scene and found Conguitos in the bodies. Lost, he calls Sherlock Holmes to ask for help. Sherlock discovers a clue and is able to find the murder. Sherlock arrives at the factory and discover a clues to catch Joniarty. Finally Sherlock catches him.

Argument

One day, the police call the Inspector Lestrade about a murder case. When he arrives, he discovers conguitos inside the body. He thought that it was weird but he didn’t care. A week after that, the police called again about a similar case. The body is Mycroft Holmes. Again, the Inspector finds conguitos and, confused, calls Sherlock Holmes to ask for help. Sherlock gets the conguitos and takes them to the laboratory. He analyzed and discover particles of dynamite on the conguitos. He searches and finds the only place where dynamite is sold. He calls Watson and explains to him all about the case and, together, they go to the dynamite factory. There they see Joniarty manipulating the conguitos. Joniarty saw them and escapes. Sherlock searches the factory and finds a clue that leads him to Joniarty’s home. They find a video where Joniarty explains his plan. Sherlock recognizes the location where Joniarty filmed the video and he knows where Joniarty is at that moment. Finally Sherlock surprises Joniarty and catches him.

Reflection - Day 3

Today we have worked quickly but we don’t have had any problem. We have had much free time because we had finished all the work. Alejandro and Jonay have done the poster and they have helped team, Alan has edited the trailer and Anna and Emma have done the kahoot and the entrevist with Alejandro and Jonay. Finally Alan finished the trailer and it like us so much. We don’t have learned anything. We have had fun.

We are going to show you our poster about the new film of Sherlock Holmes and the "Case of the Conguitos".

Reflection - Day 2

Hello girls and boys!

This is our reflection.
In this day we are doing the activity 6,7 and 8. We did in morning the activity 6 and 7, we have finished the both and we have done so good.
We have done the activity 8 in the afternoon, we have finish too. We have recorded all the scenes.  We need to join the videos and place the background voices.
We have used our time so good but the first hour of the day we were thinking the script.
We have separated the team in 2 groups and we have helped together. Today we have learned many things about London like hotels and restaurants.

Budget

To create our film we will travel to London for 7 days. From Monday, April 17 until April 24.
We are 5 people therefore all prices have to be multiplied by 5.
We will leave Barcelona on a Monday morning to take advantage of the day.
The price by taxi from Barcelona school to the Prat airport which is where we take the plane, is 45€ (£38.43).
The flight will take you from the airport of Barcelona - El Prat at 10:50. The flight takes two and a half hours. We will land at London - Stansted STN at 12:20. The one-way price is 61€ (£52.13) per person, in total 305€ (£380.75), 5 people.
The price by taxi from Stansted STN airport to the hotel, is 40€ (£49.93).
Once we get there, we will settle into the Central Park Hotel on the center of Queensbrought Terrace 49 - 67.
In total 7 days, per person will cost 1,300€ (£1622.79) and 5, 6,500€ (£8114.90). Breakfast is included in the price.
To record our movie every day we will go to different places. To get around we are going to use public transport. We bought a card for seven days in all areas of London. An adult pays 64.55€ (£80.58) and a child aged 11 to 15 years, 32.27€ (£40.28).
Later we will go to the hotel to prepare all the costumes that are missing for the recording. After staying at the hotel we will go to eat at the restaurant Dotori, the menu costs 12€ (£14.98) per person and 60€ (£74.90), 5 people.
In the afternoon, we visited all the sites planned for recording. We will dine at McDonald's and go to sleep at the hotel.

On the second day we will record the crime scenes in Chinatown. It takes 19 minutes to travel to the Lamb and flag restaurant. There is a special offer where food and dinner costs 9€ (£11.23) all.

On the third day we are going to record footage at the offices of the Metropolitan Police of London. At midday we will go to eat at P.S. Tattershall Castle,because is the closest restaurant in the area and the menu costs 12€ (£14.98) per person, and it has a lot of options. The 5 of us will eat for 60€ (£74.90). In the afternoon, we will go to Canon Row to record the other crime scene and we will have dinner in the same restaurant because in the evenings the menu is cheap. It costs 6€ (£ 7.49) per person, in total 30€ (£37.45).

On the fourth day we will go to the Cervantes Institute in London. We will eat in Soho, it is 23 minutes by public transport. The menu costs 8€ (£9.98) per person, total 40€ (£49.93) for 5. It is a restaurant that makes all kinds of meals so we have decided that we will also dine there.

On the fifth day, we will record at the Waterloo Bridge where we will record the seventh scene. We will eat at the Prezzo which is located 30 minutes and costs 12€ (£14.98) per person. In total, 60€ (£74.90). In the afternoon we will go to 221B Baker Street to film one of the first scenes and we will have some sandwiches at the hotel.

On the sixth day we will record scenes 10 and 11 on 140 Grovg Agar. We will eat at the York Way Fish Bar which is a special fish restaurant and is near the filming location. In the afternoon we finish recording and will eat at Prezzo, at night they make some great pizzas for 2 people that cost 10€. We have ordered 3 pizzas for everyone and the drinks are free. It will cost us 30€ (£37.45) for 5.

Om the seventh day we will record in an abandoned factory all day. To eat we will stop at a restaurant that is 14 minutes from the factory, called Sketch. The menu costs 12€ (£14.98) per person, in total 60€ (£74.90) for 5. For dinner we will go to a Chinese restaurant next to the hotel that makes food for 5 people for 40€ (£49.93).

The last day that we have everything recorded, we will pack, we will eat in the hotel, a menu of 9€ (£ 11.23) individually, in total 45€ (£ 56.18) and in the afternoon we will prepare to catch the plane. The flight will take us from the airport of London - Stansted STN at 20:35. The flight takes two and a quarter hours. We will land at Barcelona - El Prat at 23:50. The one-way price is 33€ (£41.20) per person, in total 165€ (£206.03), 5 people.

Approximately we could make the trip to london to be able to record the film for 1,650€ (£2,060.34) per person. Total of 8,250€ (£10,300.97), 5 people.

Specification of the itinerary the places where to make the recording

Police center: 13-15 Great Scotland Yard

We have chosen this place because is a police center in the London center and is so important and famous. Is near of our hotel and its big and comfortable.

 

 

 

Crime scene 1: ChinaTown Gerrard St

It’s a place very populated and the murder can scape without being seen. China Town is famous in a lot of movies for its criminality.
 

Crime scene 2: Canon Row

Is a street next to the station and near to the Big Ben. Is near to another places to film and can be a great scene in this place.

Laboratory: 15-19 Devereux Ct

It’s an institute in the center of London and is beautiful outside and inside. We need film a scene in a laboratory and this institute is a good place to do it. 

 

Street Sherlock Holmes calls Watson: Waterloo Bridge

Is a street near the Institute and represents that Sherlock is going to the factory and you must go to this bridge if you want go to the factory. It makes sense to call Watson in this bridge.

 

 

Factory: Battersea power station

Is an inactive factory near the center and it can be a great place to film the scene. We need a factory and is good that is inactive because doesn’t affect in the production.

 

 

Joniarty’s guard: 140 Agar Grove

Is a peaceful residential street in London and is remoted of the center. We need a place where nobody suspect.

 

 

Sherlock’s home: 221B Baker Street

Is an iconic place and is necessary add it in this film because is the legendary 

home of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.

Reflection - Day 1

This is the first day, we have done all the activities on time with a little help from the teachers because we have done it in English, we used the time wisely, by getting our activities finished.

This morning we did from the first activity to 4. Alan and Emma did the mind map and Anna and Alejandro did the designing of the blog. Then Jonay helped us to do activity 3 and 4. We've learned a lot with activity 3 because it was to search information about London.
We have had problems with activity 4 which consists of explaining the characters. We have copied too much information from the internet but it is already fixed because we have done the activity again this afternoon.
This afternoon we did the activity 5 and we correct the activity 4.

It was a good day and we worked together very well.

Today we have a description of the characters from Sherlock Holmes' novels.

Sherlock Holmes (Alan): He is the main protagonist and his name is the title of our Project.
He is a tall and thin detective who stands out for his intelligence and observation skills to solve difficult cases. Occasionally, he is a little rude and not very tidy.
He smokes a pipe, he likes cookies, he plays the violin and he sometimes consumes cocaine.
He always wears an umbrella with a lion’s head, a plaid cap with a double wing, sunglasses, a smoking pipe, leather gloves and a magnifying glass which he keeps in his waterproof trench coat.

John Watson (Alejandro): He is the assistant of Sherlock Holmes in many of his adventures. He is also the best friend of Sherlock. He was a doctor in medicine. John Watson is described as thin and has tanned skin. He is tall and with small moustache. He is clever. He has a hat and sometimes he wears black clothes.

Lestrade (Anna): She is a medium-sized person who always wears a black suit with a red tie, black shoes, and an enormous raincoat.
She has a lot of patience, she likes to lead, she is very humble but sometimes she judges people too fast. She is unimaginative.

Mycroft Holmes (Emma): She has many personality disorders and always intimidates others. She likes to control everything and observe the details, but she doesn't like to work a lot. She is very intelligent and she has the ability to know the weaknesses of other people.
She is thin and tall and her eyes are gray and big. She likes to dress fashionably with expensive clothes.

Joniarty (Jonay): He is tall and thin with gray hair. He loves math and science. He has an aggressive and violent behaviour with people. He wears a black robe and his pet is always with him. His pet is a black crow and they go everyw together.
